Ladies' Altar Society
This ministry has three main points of focus – the altar, our members, and the community that surrounds us.
Our main purpose is to see that all altar needs are accounted for. The ladies volunteer for Sacristan Duty, preparing the altar before Saturday evening services. They hold several fund-raisers throughout the year to cover expenses for altar necessities.
Secondly, we serve our members by hosting several social gatherings throughout the calendar year. This also serves as an entry opportunity for new women in the Parish. We welcome all parishioners to join us for food and fellowship.
Our third focus involves the Giving Cabinet and the community that it serves. Twice a month we distribute staple food items to residents of Wilson County seeking assistance. This involves some periodic shopping, stocking, and serving our customers. The Ladies’ Altar Society meets six times a year on the first Thursday of the even-numbered months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, and Dec) at 6PM in the Parish Life Center. Meetings generally last about an hour and 15 minutes. For more information, contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
